B.B. King
B.B. King is a legendary blues guitarist and songwriter. One of his
trademarks is naming his guitars "Lucille," a tradition that began in
the 1950s. In November of 1964, King recorded the well-known

Live at the Regal
album at the Regal Theater in Chicago, Illinois.
In 2004, King was awarded an honorary doctorate degree from
the University of Mississippi, and the Royal Swedish Academy of
Music awarded him the Polar Music Prize for his "significant
contributions to the blues."
Eric Clapton is quoted as having said,
"Some people talk about me like a revolutionary. That’s
nonsense. All I did was copy B.B.King."*
