Mark O'Connor is widely considered to be the most prominent fiddler of his generation. Although he started with guitar, he switched to the violin at 11 and by age 14 had won three national championships. He's won every major fiddle competition in the US, a Grammy award, and has been named Musician of the Year by the Country Music Association six years in a row. He has crossed musical boundaries, composing and recording not only bluegrass music but also classical and jazz.*
